Preference for this position will be given to those individuals with at least 2 years’ experience at an AZA accredited institution. Must be able to swim and possess a valid Florida driver’s license. While performing the duties of this job, the Keeper will be regularly required to bend, stand, walk, climb, balance, throw, and lift. Keepers are expected to prepare animal health records, follow prescribed primate diets, and strictly adhere to safety protocols. Keepers are also responsible for maintaining primate habitats and holdings and identifying maintenance issues in need of correction or repair. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: all facets of animal husbandry, including training, animal observations, and enrichment. Our Chimpanzee area is currently home to chimpanzees and white-handed gibbons. You must demonstrate leadership in your role and provide input and expertise in support of Lion Country Safari’s mission statement.
